Within a city of great history, a new thread is woven into the urban fabric. This structure pronounces itself with water. A manifestation of our long lost connection to the sea.
A large atrium floats between two sculpted voids. Designed according to tracked movements of synchronized swimmers in a diagrammatic perspective. Refracted aqueous light illuminates the space from the transparent pool above. Artistic swimmers and rain dance alongside the structure behind an expansive glass wall. Displacement of water conducted by the movement of the swimmers allows the pool to swell and spill over into the street below.
A performance not only of humans but of nature.
